Happy Anniversary, Algerts!

Today, one year ago, my cousin Lesley married Dan on a beautiful beach in Hawaii.  Here's the story:  Lesley is in the Navy and Dan is in the Army, both are attending medical school through the military.  They started dating during a previous rotation, funnily enough, in Hawaii.  Their next rotation was to be in Hawaii (they scheduled it to work out that way) so in order for them to travel and practice medicine together, they would have to get married immediately and one of them could make the switch.  With Lesley always being the boss, Dan immediately filled out the proper paperwork.  It was an intimate, lovely ceremony on the beach that involved the exchange of rings from Tiffany's, flip-flops, a simple white dress from J.Crew, and a minister named Kermit.  <3

On March 20th, 2010 they had an actual wedding ceremony in Washington D.C. for friends and family.  Weddings are such a beautiful time.  And I feel so blessed to have been there to witness the sweetness for myself.  My cousin was the ultimate bride--she was never flustered, drama queeney, or dare I say: bitchy.  It was so relaxed, but elegant all at the same time.  Just perfect!  Speaking of perfect, we have yet to find any flaws with Dan--such a great guy!  Lesson for all the ladies:  NEVER SETTLE!!  The right one IS out there!  Lesson for the fellas:  YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG WITH TIFFANY'S!!!  Lol  Isn't this picture adorable?!?!?  The picture with the "K" on it was taken by an amazing photographer, Kristen Leigh.  Here's her blog.  It also has more perfect pictures of the wedding and a little slide show story of it.  I'm warning you, you might get a little misty from a happiness overload....not to mention, a slight feeling of envy ;)

I love you cousin and cousin-in-law!  Congratulations and Happy Anniversary <3
